Yuka believes Shodo allows everyone to be honest with their body, mind and spirit, and be able to use Shodo to express their thoughts, emotions and their life.
Sometimes you just need to close your eyes to see what is inside of you, and express with some ink and brushes.
Yoshi Shibata Sensei
Yoshi Shibata Sensei used to be an Aikido guest instructor who came to Portsmouth Aikido almost every summer. He taught me “Iroha Uta” (Healing Calligraphy) in 2014. Yoshi is a Japanese calligrapher, Aikido-ka and also a wildlife photographer. His calligraphy has amazing powers and sprits in them, and I believe that comes from how he connects to wildlife and people with a strong bond and a special Ki that he has within him.
